2013 Baseball Predictions

Once again, here are my bold predictions for this baseball season.

2013 Predictions

American League

East

Toronto Blue Jays - I think the moves will pay off.
Tampa Bay Rays* - I don't think their moves will pay off.
Baltimore Orioles - Division is too tough to repeat.
Boston Redsox - Ellsbury will rebound but I don't like the pitching.
New York Yankees - I don't like this team, personally or professionally.

Central

Detroit Tigers - Starting pitching depth may be a problem.
Kansas City Royals* - Good young team and now with pitching.
Cleveland Indians - This team is on the rise.
Chicago Whitesox - This team is falling.
Minnesota Twins - This team still has problems.

West

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim - Good pitching and better offense.
Seattle Mariners - Slowly getting better.
Oakland Athletics - Still young and still good.
Texas Rangers -I think the glory days are over.
Houston Astros - They will be better than people think.

Playoffs:

Kansas City over Tampa Bay

Detroit over Toronto
Kansas City over Los Angeles

Detroit over Kansas City

Cy Young Award: James Shields, KC
MVP: Miguel Cabrera, DET
Rookie of the Year: Dylan Bundy, BAL
Batting Champ: Joe Mauer, MIN


National League

East

Washington Nationals - This team is the best in baseball.
Atlanta Braves* - This team is second best in the NL.
Philadelphia Phillies - This team is getting old, fast.
New York Mets - Good young team but not good enough.
Miami Marlins - Another rebuilding but won't be that bad.

Central

Cincinnati Reds - Joey Votto is the real deal.
Milwaukee Brewers - This team is pretty good but could be better.
Pittsburgh Pirates - Better pitching, better hitting=more wins.
St. Louis Cardinals - They always seem to win but not this year.
Chicago Cubs - Maybe next year.

West

Arizona Diamondbacks - Great pitching and coaching.
Los Angeles Trolley Dodgers* - Can't buy the division.
San Francisco Giants - It's 2011 all over again.
San Diego Padres - I don't know what to make of this team.
Colorado Rockies - A good offense. It stops there.

Playoffs

Atlanta over Los Angeles

Washington over Atlanta
Cincinnati over Arizona

Cincinnati over Washington

Cy Young: Clayton Kershaw, LA
MVP: Joey Votto,CIN
Rookie of the Year: Ryu, LA
Batting Champ: Joey Votto, CIN

World Series

Detroit over Cincinnati in 7
