2014 Baseball Predictions

Here are my bold predictions for this baseball season.

2014 Predictions

American League

East

Tampa Bay Rays - This team is good and ready for a World Series run.
Boston Redsox* - They have too many holes, especially SS and CF.
New York Yankees - I still don't like this team.  Tanaka who?
Baltimore Orioles - Division is too tough for them and Davis won't perform like that again.
Toronto Blue Jays - I don't know which direction this team is headed.

Central

Kansas City Royals - Under-performed last season.
Detroit Tigers* - Don't like the off-season moves, starting pitching depth may be a problem.
Cleveland Indians - Francona can't pull it off again this year.
Minnesota Twins - Much improved from last year.
Chicago White Sox - This team is not good.

West

Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim - I'm not counting them out.
Oakland Athletics - Not enough quality starting pitchers.
Texas Rangers - Choo is not the answer.
Seattle Mariners - Big off-season, like Toronto 2013.
Houston Astros - They will be better than people think.

Playoffs:

Detroit over Boston

Detroit over Tampa Bay
Kansas City over Los Angeles

Detroit over Kansas City

Cy Young Award: James Shields, KC
MVP: Mike Trout, LAA
Rookie of the Year: Mashiro Tanaka, NY
Batting Champ: Miguel Cabrera, DET

National League

East

Washington Nationals - Starting rotation is stacked.
Atlanta Braves - Too many injuries.
New York Mets - Good young team but not good enough.
Philadelphia Phillies - If age equaled wins, they'd win it all.
Miami Marlins - Getting better.

Central

St. Louis Cardinals - They always seem to win.
Pittsburgh Pirates - Didn't make any moves this off-season.
Cincinnati Reds - This team is getting worse each year.
Milwaukee Brewers - Braun is over-rated.
Chicago Cubs - Maybe next year.

West

Los Angeles Trolley Dodgers - Rotation is too good to lose.
San Francisco Giants* - It's an even year, they make the playoffs.
Arizona Diamondbacks* - They will battle in this division.
San Diego Padres - The division is too loaded for them.
Colorado Rockies - No leadoff hitter or CF. Why did they trade Fowler?
